Another Famous Easter Egg in Literature
This is a link to a full-text version Vladimir Nabokov's "The Vane Sisters." You have to scroll down a little bit to see it. This is one of literature's most famous Easter Eggs. Nabokov famously submitted the story to The New Yorker, only to have it rejected. Well, the genius behind Pale Fire and Lolita did not agree with their assessment. So, he told them the secret of The Vane Sisters -- in an era before Eggs, he had hidden one so subtly that the entire editorial staff of a hugely famous literary magazine missed it entirely. Rather embarrassed, they promptly published the piece.
Assuming you like a challenge, see if you can find Nabokov's Egg.
For all the cheaters in the room, full spoilers are available on Wikipedia. And yes, since it's Wikipedia, I am aware that you will still have to read.
